Oude Geuze Boon is a spontaneous fermentation beer, re-fermented in the bottle. It is made of lambic of different ages: 90% of 18-month-old lambic, 5% 3-year-old lambic and 5% very young lambic. This results in a dry and sour beer with an alcohol content of 6.5%.
Serving temperature: 2-6°C
Like most other original gueuzes, this beer can be kept in the cellar for up to 20 years. It has won numerous prizes at the World Beer Cup over the last few years, including the golden medal in the category ‘Belgian-Style Sour Ale’ in 2008 and 2012. Not to be confused with Boon’s other Gueuze, Boon Gueuze Mariage Parfait, which consists mostly of 3-year-old lambic.
